Think About it...

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Welcome

We're a Bible-believing, evangelical church located on the borders of Eltham (London SE9), Mottingham and Chislehurst.

We strive to make Christ's love and name known to the people who live around us through personal friendship and contact with our neighbours as well as through outreach events, door-to-door visiting and the delivery of our magazine.

If you're new to the area or are looking to find out more about who Jesus is, please feel free to drop into one of our main meetings, call us or send us an email. You can find all our contact details below and you can see meeting times here.

Mary Endersby (March 10)

Our Yaounde Training Centre keeps humming with courses. February’s leadership course has given way to a Translation Principles Course - both courses with a full capacity of 30 students.

The Mbam Writers’ Workshop will be under way the first week of March, in Ombessa. I’m grateful this training can go ahead, as our main village organiser fell ill and things looked uncertain for a time. We value your prayers that the teaching will be clear, that trainees will grasp the various techniques and have insight in applying them to their languages. As Scripture translation moves ahead in this area there is much need for literature so that readers can develop fluency. Able writers also help establish acceptable written styles which can guide translators as they seek clear ways to express Scripture truths in these languages. Pray for a good supply of stamina for all: we have a very full programme and it’s very hot there now! Pray too for spiritual fruit from the daily devotional times.

There’s a wind of bereavement currently in our Yaounde SIL community. Seven colleagues have each lost a parent over as many weeks. We miss a number of them as they’ve gone home for the funerals, etc.

As a Branch we look forward to our annual Spiritual Retreat (first week in April). It’s the one time in the year when all members come together, for fellowship and encouragement in the Word. It’s also an important "catching-up" time! Plans are well under way for this event; our speaker will be a Dutch pastor. Your prayers are valued for the continuing preparations, and that we might ready our hearts for the Word.
